“Versailles” research group from the École du Louvre

Every year, the “Versailles” research group puts forward ten wide-ranging subjects, suggested by the museum’s curators, taking a deliberately broad time frame from the 17th to the 20th century.

The subject of these dissertations can be a review of spaces or locations, the constitution and analysis of a body of works in the collections of the Palace of Versailles or other institutions, a study of the artists of Versailles, etc.

The research group is directed by Raphaël Masson, chief heritage curator at the Palace of Versailles, and is co-ordinated by Benjamin Ringot, assistant to the scientific director of the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles.
