Summer school of the doctoral school 433 “Concepts et Langages” from the Sorbonne Université
The “Concepts et langages” doctoral school, which is part of Sorbonne Université, is home to over 400 doctoral students, guided by nearly 150 research supervisors in the following five academic disciplines: philosophy, musicology, language sciences, information and communication sciences, sociology.
To give substance to this remarkable body of scientific knowledge, the board of the doctoral school decided to organise a first summer school in September 2024, in collaboration with the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles. The aim of gathering together young researchers from the various disciplines, on a voluntary basis, to attend a two-day programme of lectures and visits, all conducted in the same place.
For the 2026–2027 edition, held on 7 and 8 September 2026, 19 PhD students were able to present their work on a new theme: ‘Rethinking Norms’.
The papers were organised around five areas of focus:
- Standardised knowledge
- Moral norms
- Writing the norm
- Norms and care
- The genders of norms
