Our publications
The mission of the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles, through its publishing department, is to promote and disseminate the work and findings resulting from its scientific activities, as well as studies produced as part of external projects—whether individual or collaborative—whose topics are related to its fields of research.
The Center contributes to the production of various types of publications, in print or electronic format:
- proceedings of conferences, study days, seminars, or roundtables;
- scientific articles;
- editions of sources from the 16th to the 19th centuries;
- monographs (doctoral dissertations, habilitation theses, École des Chartes theses, essays, etc.) and edited volumes;
- translations of articles and reference works.
In particular, since 2009, the Center has co-published the “Aulica. L’Univers de la cour” series and, since 2007, has published the Bulletin du Centre de recherche du château de Versailles, an electronic scholarly journal available on OpenEdition Journals. It also co-published, with Fayard, the collection “Lieux et expressions du pouvoir” Collection between 2015 and 2023.
The Centre de recherche du château de Versailles may also provide financial support for certain publications and partner with public or private publishers on projects related to its missions and fields of study.
